Student Enterprise AwardsOn the 20th of September a lady name is Serena came in to talk to us about starting up mini companies. She went through past winners of the award and their statistics like sales and investments. She explained how they came up with their ideas which gave me inspiration to find something I could sell and something that would work. Near the end of the presentation she handed paperclips out to everyone and asked us all wash other than paper binding is it good for , she gave us 10 minutes to think of things my team of three Sean and Hugo thought of things like hairclips, pimple popper, for opening your sim port on your phone and to pierced your ear.
Guiness factory trip On Friday morning me and 6 of my friends got on the Dublin bus to head into town to the Guinness factory which is Ireland's number 1 tourist attraction. We got there for 11:30 and walked through the steps on how to make guiness which was laid out in each room you walk through on the walls and with examples like the machines they used for roasting the barley, they even had a man made waterfall in the water section at the beginning. After learning how to make guiness we went through to the cafe to sit down for a muffin and water break. Then we went through to the history of guiness where we learnt all about where it came from and about the creator Arthur Guiness and how it helped the Irish economy. After walking around walking around the history of Guinness area we head up to the gravity bar where with our tickets we got a free soft drink and a lovely view looking out over the whole of Dublin. Then walked around the gift shop where steven bought a lovely hat which was the end of our journey. This trip was loads of fun with the guys and we all learnt a thing or two about Irish culture.
